The casino occupies the top floor of the massive two story hall overlooking the river and Navy Yard the simulcast center, poker room and race track occupy the lower floor.
The security is mainly inside and present however, the area around the casino/track is not Philly's finest and especially at night should be considered for both coming and going. With plenty of free covered parking serving both the casino and track, this is a very convenient and easy accesable and free. The Harrrah's casino in Chester (airport area Philly) when combined with the Harness Race Track adjacent makes for a terrific way to blow an afternoon (or evening) and some well earned cash as well. Now that Atlantic City is pretty much a dead issue for gambling, due largely to competition in Pa and NYNY, the industry turns to the newer, technologically interesting facilities that have contributed to AC's demise.
